Call for radical reform of IMF governance

A group of leading experts and campaigners have called for radical reform of the International Monetary Fund’s governing board, proposing changes that would reduce both European and US influence over the institution.
The letter, released ahead of the weekend of October 8 to October 10 annual meetings of the IMF and its sister institution, the World Bank, comes amid a fierce tussle about power and influence among the fund’s shareholder countries.
